The 100th and last Vrooom is organised by Lukas Simonis.

By now, most of you probably heard something about it, but here's why Vrooom is calling it quits after edition #100. Earlier this year, the City of Rotterdam (or more precisely: the Culture Advisory Committee of the Municipality of Rotterdam) decided to withdraw their support for the Vrooom series with regard to the 2024 season.
This effectively means that we would not be able to continue the series in a financially viable manner (in a nutshell: provide decent performance fees for the artists and cover expenses). Vrooom decided not to contest this decision, but rather take this (combined with other considerations) as a cue to conclude things. We've done a hundred events in 13 years (not counting the many supplementary 'specials' and 'Readymades' organised by Lukas, or the collabs with Koffie & Ambacht, etc.). It has run its course, it's been good, het is wel goed zo.

All Us Dada is a new collaboration between Gerri Jäger and actor Gerindo Kartadinata.
This project is a kaleidoscope of text and sound that questions how to relate to a system that has established the biggest division between the rich and poor (the wealthy and the poor) ever, the system that is ruining our planet and that deprives us more and more from the ability of self-determination.

Shall We? is a trio that exists in multiple simultaneous sonic temporalities. Their sound is a mystical deja-vu of a traverso (a baroque flute) played by Dorota Matejová, algorithmic coding texturality by eerie_ear aka Sebastián Pappalardo, and Tisa N. Herlec's voice; a voice that escapes time while tracing narratives. Their phantasmagoric sonic world embraces the listeners strongly while gazing straight into their depths.

Jacco Weener is a performance/visual/sound artist from Rotterdam. Besides his solo performances (which are about the intersection of pop culture and religion/spirituallity mostly) he also sings in the bands Cantos Deus (a religious no wave band) and Buurtbeheer (a social housing punk band). With both band and solo projects, he has released multiple records on CD, Vinyl and Cassette.

┆ LIEUWE ZELLE ┆
Zelle is a descendant of a famous Frisian family that produced a.o. Mata Hari and reverend Johannes Hendrikus Zelle.
Zelle himself is also well on his way to becoming immortal. He is one of the editors of the current form of Radio Worm and regularly performs with a repertoire that varies from brutal electronica to scandalous performances to Remonstrant sermons that are heartening. Tonight we invited him to ring out the Vrooom series, combining it with beautiful sound art.
