Goldblum celebrate the release of their self-titled tape with a special set occupying the twilight zone between DJ set and live performance. Tony Guarino investigates the sonic tactility of de Kapelzaal. In the music of young'uns 3times7, anything goes.

┆ALAN COURTIS & GERT-JAN PRINS┆ar/nl
Alan Courtis is a key figure of the Argentine underground and co-founder of the cult group Reynols. His solo work is usually based on skilled techniques involving prepared sound, tape manipulations, processing of field recordings, and live electronics. He uses objects, cymbals, synthesizers, computer tools and plays traditional (both acoustic and electric) instruments as well as self-built, strange and unusual instruments. Alan collaborated with e.g. Lee Ranaldo, Damo Suzuki, and Francisco Lopez, but Courtis is an excellent electro-acoustic improviser in his own right. His electrifying performances resolutely dodge any contrived genre convention.
Gert-Jan Prins focuses on the sonic and musical qualities of electronic noise and percussion and investigates its relationship with the visual. While he started his career as a drummer, his works include performances, sound-installations, compositions, electronic circuits and collaborations with other musicians, visual artists, composers, and dancers.

┆3TIMES7┆int'l / R'dam

Fresh new band consisting of guitarist Jorrit Westerhof, drummer Aleksandar Škorić and bassplayer Marko Curcic. This culturally comprehensive trio takes the listener to the outer limits of various music styles. There's Blues, Balkan-style rhythms, psychedelia and noisy outbursts, but also mellow parts that let you float around, like in a lucid dream. For them, anything goes.

┆TONY GUARINO┆us/nl
Tony Guarino is a sound artist from Maryland, United States currently based in Den Haag. Rooted in experimental percussion and improvisation, he approaches places’ inherent materials as ins truments for physical performance. Site-specific textures, rhythms, and characters are unearthed and explored with an ear towards dissociative hallucination. His research project at the Institute of Sonology extends this practice to investigate the sonic tactility of everyday life.

┆GOLDBLUM┆R'dam
Sparkling duo messing around with flea market cassette tapes and cheap keyboards. Fragments of golden oldies, crippled rhythms, bursts of ferric noise and melancholic melodies come together in dreamlike songs and soundscapes, buried in tape hiss. Goldblum has cut their teeth in acts like Sweat Tongue and Red Brut.

This event is made possible with kind support of Popunie Rotterdam.
