Vrooom #60: tapestries of textured sound from Anne La Berge & Robert van Heumen aka Shackle, dueling guitars from Blast and Palinckx members, and additional sensory stimulation from Erfan Abdi from Tehran
SHACKLE
This duo has a way of making music all their own. At the heart is a self-designed, digital cueing system which in a way operates as a third member. Both prodding and reactive, the 'Shackle' system suggests musical directions and textures to La Berge (flute, electronics) and van Heumen (electronics), opening up a fascinating array of sonic choices to play with and against. With uncanny transitions that turn on a dime and long, spun-out tapestries of sound, Shackle’s music works on two levels at once.

FRAQX
Fraqx is the collab between the Tilburg-based guitarists and scene veterans Frank Crijns (Blast, Betonfraktion) and Jacq Palinckx (Palinckx, VLEK), and simultaneously the title of their debut album. Both artists have been active on the cutting-edge of avant-rock, improvisation and contemporary composed music. As a duo they have developed an organic blend between noise, ambient and instant composing.
